Yan Zhu

Yan Zhu is an experienced professional in computer vision and software engineering, currently serving as a Software Engineer at Google, focusing on Android Automotive. Previously, Yan held a position as a Data Science Intern at Zoom Video Communications, where notable achievements included the development of a machine-learning model to predict user loyalty. Yan's early career includes a summer internship at IBM Global Business Services, where strategic consulting skills were honed, and a role as a Computer Vision Engineer at ObEN, Inc., which involved gender and race classification. As a Research Assistant at USC's Signal Analysis and Interpretation Laboratory, Yan contributed to character clustering research and developed unsupervised learning models. Additionally, Yan co-founded and presided over the Association of Chinese Students in Engineering at USC, cultivating a supportive community for academic and professional growth. Yan holds a Master’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering as well as a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California.
