Yao Xie

Yao Xie is a skilled engineer with extensive experience in perception engineering, image processing, and system reliability testing. Xie's career began as a Test Engineer at FiberHome, focusing on system reliability through software simulation. Subsequently, Xie contributed as a Graduate Student Researcher at UCLA HCI Research, designing AI embedded systems and achieving significant accuracy in medical image classification. At UCLA's Department of Bioengineering, Xie's research focused on novel imaging techniques and machine learning applications for tissue characterization and cancer detection. Xie then progressed to a Research Engineer II role at TuSimple, specializing in sensor data association and object tracking using computer vision and machine learning. Currently, Xie serves as a Software Engineer in ML/CV at Google, working on augmented reality projects. Xie holds a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology and the University of California, Los Angeles, respectively.
