Yifan Tian

Yifan Tian is a highly skilled researcher and software engineer with a strong academic background in physics and computer science. Currently serving as a Graduate Student Researcher in the physics department at UC Irvine since September 2015, Yifan focuses on simulating quantum many-body systems through tensor-network methods and is involved in developing the ITensor library using C++. Yifan has prior experience as a Software Engineer Intern at Google, where efforts included building a neural network NLP model utilizing TensorFlow to detect multi-language bogus titles in Google Maps and developing a prediction model for YouTube visitor return rates with DNN and RNN techniques. In June 2022, Yifan transitioned to a Senior Software Engineer role at Bloomberg. Yifan holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of California, Irvine, and a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, complemented by a Bachelor's degree in Physical Sciences from the University of Science and Technology of China.
