Kostas Batos

Kostas Batos possesses extensive expertise in environment, social, health, and safety management within the energy infrastructure sector. Currently, at intec - GOPA-International Energy Consultants since April 2019, Kostas focuses on developing the ESHS line of business and managing international environmental and social projects, particularly related to transmission and distribution lines, substations, power plants, and renewable energy. Kostas is skilled in coordinating Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs) compliant with international financing institutions across various regions, including Southeastern Europe, the Mediterranean, Asia, and sub-Saharan Africa. Prior experience includes serving as the Director of the Environment Department at EXERGIA from September 1993 to March 2019, overseeing environmental projects and ESIAs for a range of energy investments. Kostas holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Integrated Environmental Management from the University of Bath and a Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
