Derek McLaughlin

Technical Manager at Gopher Stage Lighting

Derek McLaughlin has diverse work experience in technical and managerial positions. Derek started their career as an A/V Technician at the University of Cincinnati in 2006. In 2007, they moved on to become a Systems Engineer at Cross Light Inc., where they provided technical support and managed internal IT and public websites. Additionally, from 2007 to 2009, they were also Partner at Triton Productions. In 2010, McLaughlin became Technical Manager at Gopher Stage Lighting, where they led technical development, application engineering, and managed electrical safety programs. Derek is also a licensed PLT in MN.

Derek McLaughlin obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theatre Design and Production from the University of Cincinnati, attending from 2003 to 2007. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including Remote Pilot and Private Pilot from the Federal Aviation Administration, NFPA 70E Safety Training in the Workplace 2-Day Course from NFPA, OSHA-30 from Hilmerson Safety, and Power Limited Technician from the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry. Derek has also obtained certifications in APG (Advanced Programmers Group) and Field Service Technician from Electronic Theatre Controls.
