Wendy Mathieu

Wendy Mathieu has over 30 years of work experience in the education and technology industries. Wendy currently holds the position of Senior Vice President of Product at BookNook, a role they have held since May 2022. Prior to that, they served as the Vice President of Product at BookNook from July 2021 to May 2022.

Before joining BookNook, Wendy worked at Scientific Learning, a Carnegie Learning Company, from June 2018 to May 2021, where they held the position of Vice President of Product Management. In this role, they reworked and owned the platform and product portfolio roadmaps, collaborated with Engineering to improve product efficiency, and utilized customer insights and KPIs for data-driven decision-making.

From 2015 to 2018, Wendy worked at Pearson as the Director of Product Management, focusing on K-12 Literacy. During their time at Pearson, they built and led a highly talented product management team and implemented a scalable process for delivering innovative learning resources.

Wendy also has experience as a Senior Product Manager at Pearson North America and Scientific Learning, and as a Product Development Consultant at various educational publishing and software companies. Wendy began their career in education, working as a Teacher-Researcher at Apple Computer Inc. and as a Vice Principal and Curriculum/Assessment Coordinator at Edmonton Public Schools.

Wendy holds a Practicum Associate position at the University of Alberta, where they were involved in secondary English education. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated a strong focus on data-driven decision-making, product management, and educational leadership.

Wendy Mathieu has a Bachelor of Education, with Distinction in Secondary Education from the University of Alberta. Wendy also pursued further education at the University of Alberta Graduate Studies, where they obtained a Master of Education in Secondary Education (Curriculum & Instruction). Additionally, they have obtained certifications in "Get Ready for Generative AI" and "How to Be an Adaptable Employee during Change and Uncertainty" from LinkedIn. Furthermore, they have certifications in "Product Launch Essentials" and "Product Management Certification" from Pragmatic Marketing.
