Michael McRae

Michael McRae has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Starting in 2021, they worked at Swiftly, Inc. as the Director of Business Operations. Prior to this, they were the Senior Manager of Business Operations at the same company from 2021 to 2022. From 2017 to 2021, Michael worked at OpenGov Inc. as the Senior Commercial Operations Manager, where they were responsible for government performance solutions. Michael also held the position of Renewals Manager at OpenGov from 2017 to 2018.

Before their time at OpenGov, Michael worked at the U.S. House of Representatives as the Deputy Press Secretary/District Representative from 2016 to 2017. Michael also had a role at Google from 2014 to 2016, where they worked in Legal Operations, specifically analyzing and responding to law enforcement requests for data.

In 2012, Michael worked at Grayling/Rose & Kindel as an Associate, and prior to that, they were a Public Affairs Intern at the same company. Michael gained valuable experience in public affairs, managing reporter and news network databases, tracking media coverage, and conducting policy research.

Michael's career also includes an internship at the Office of U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein in 2011, where they were involved in legislative and press-related tasks such as summarizing bills, tracking legislation, and conducting background research.

In 2010, Michael worked as a Project Manager at the Enactus Entrepreneurial Program, overseeing a team in creating a cafe at an inner city farm. Michael was responsible for creating a business plan, managing business development, and conducting market research.

Before all this, Michael had various roles such as an Instructor at Patti's Swim School from 2008 to 2010, a Caterer at Saint Mary's College High School from 2005 to 2009, and a Camp Counselor at Plantation Farm Camp in 2007.

Michael McRae attended Saint Mary's College High School in Berkeley, CA from 2004 to 2008, where they earned their High School Diploma. Michael then went on to study at the University of California, Davis from 2008 to 2012, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. During their time at UC Davis, Michael specialized in American History and Political Science. In addition, they spent a year studying at Queen Mary University of London from 2010 to 2011, focusing on History and Political Science, although they did not receive a degree from this institution.
