Andrew Mullen has a diverse range of work experience, starting with their role as a Mad Scientist at Mad Science Group Inc., where they delivered science-oriented workshops to elementary-aged kids. Andrew then worked as a Keenan Summer Research Student at St. Michael's Hospital, where they led recruitment efforts for a worldwide survey-based research project. After that, Andrew served as a Lead Coach at TOP Sports, developing and executing practice plans for youth in hockey and lacrosse.
In 2020, they worked as a Research Associate at the Image Analysis in Medicine Lab, utilizing MATLAB and Python to develop machine learning models for medical image analysis. Andrew then joined Capilano Golf and Country Club Limited as part of the Course and Grounds Maintenance team, responsible for maintaining the prestigious golf course.
Andrew later became a Calgary Roughnecks Player in the National Lacrosse League, playing for the team from November 2021 to June 2022. More recently, they worked as an AI Resident at Apziva, completing real projects under the guidance of a mentor to gain skills in providing concise solutions to real-world problems. Currently, Andrew is working as a Full Stack Developer at Vantage, starting in June 2022.
Andrew Mullen completed their Bachelor of Engineering degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from Ryerson University from 2016 to 2021. In addition to their formal education, they also obtained certifications in Data Analysis with Python from freeCodeCamp in January 2022, and Python for Finance: Investment Fundamentals & Data Analytics from Udemy in January 2022.
