OT Systems Administrator Lead at GPA

Daniel Starkey has had a varied and impressive career. Daniel began their professional journey in 1992 as a United States Marine, where they held a variety of roles, including Military Foreign Language Instructor, Cryptologic Analyst, SIGINT Support Team (SST) Leader, and United States Marine. In 2015, they began working as a Work Study at Cape Fear Community College. In 2018, they started working at GPA as an OT Systems Administrator Lead, where their main tasks were to support the process control network, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of data center hardware, switches, routers, wireless networks, fiber, servers, client workstations, and other items associated with the process control network at a client facility. Daniel was also responsible for performing lead duties including resource time and expense approval, resource scheduling, and resource task assignment in coordination with the Automation Manager, as well as application software maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting. Daniel also held the role of Network and Security Engineer I at GPA.

Daniel Starkey's education history includes attending Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center from 1996 to 1997, 1992 to 1994, and 2000 to 2001, Cape Fear Community College from 2013 to 2015, where they obtained an Associate's Degree in Computer Technology Integration - Information Systems Security and an Associate's Degree in General Education, and East Carolina University from 2016 to 2018, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Technology - Information and Computer Technology. Additionally, they obtained the EMC Academic Associate, Information Storage and Management certification from Dell EMC in July 2017, the CompTIA Security+ ce certification from CompTIA in November 2016, and the Red Hat Certified System Administrator (EX200) certification from Red Hat in April 2016.
