Alex Cui

Alex Cui is a seasoned technology professional with extensive experience in machine learning, research, and startup development. Currently serving as CTO and Co-founder of GPTZero since April 2023, Alex was previously a VC Intern at Builders VC, focusing on startup search and deeptech investments. As a Research Scientist at Waabi, responsibilities included developing motion forecasting systems for autonomous vehicles. Prior roles include a Machine Learning Research Intern at Uber, where models were created to predict pedestrian and driver behavior, and Co-founder and Lead Machine Learning Engineer at Open Mind Press, where Alex built a personalized news feed app aimed at reducing media polarization. Notable experiences also include internships at Facebook and Kuna Systems, contributing to machine learning applications, and academic achievements include a Master’s degree from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor’s degree from Caltech.
