GradeMate is an Irish EdTech startup using artificial intelligence to make high-quality educational feedback more accessible to students. Founded by a team of students in Ballina, Co. Mayo, GradeMate was created to address a challenge experienced by many learners: understanding how to improve their work when detailed, individual feedback is often limited by time and resources.

The platform enables students to receive instant, structured feedback aligned with curriculum and assessment standards, helping them identify strengths, address weaknesses, and improve performance. By combining AI with educational best practice, GradeMate provides personalised support that complements classroom teaching and empowers students to take greater ownership of their learning.

Since launching, GradeMate has gained strong early traction, generating recurring revenue and being adopted by students and teachers across multiple schools. The company has received national recognition through the Student Enterprise Programme, winning the Mayo Student Enterprise Competition and being shortlisted as one of five teams nationwide for Microsoft Young Innovators of the Year. GradeMate has also been featured in national media and has engaged with leading technology companies, educators, and industry professionals.

As the business continues to grow, GradeMate is focused on expanding its platform, strengthening partnerships with schools, and exploring new opportunities within education technology. By combining technology, education, and entrepreneurship, GradeMate is building practical solutions that help students learn more effectively, gain confidence, and achieve their full potential.
