David Accomazzo

Senior Software Engineer at GradGuard

David Accomazzo has a long and varied work history, beginning in 2008 with an internship at the Rocky Mountain News. During their time there, they covered crime, weather, politics and other news beats, wrote investigative stories, and created multimedia aspects for stories. In 2008, they also interned at Natural Foods Merchandiser, where they wrote a feature for the magazine and news stories for the magazine's daily e-news feature, in addition to copy-editing and other duties. From 2009 to 2014, they worked at Boulder Weekly and State Bill Colorado, first as an Arts & Entertainment Editor and then as a Reporter-intern. At Boulder Weekly, they managed the A&E section, generated story ideas, and supervised interns. At State Bill Colorado, they covered the 2009 state legislative session in Colorado and wrote stories about the session. From 2014 to 2017, they worked at Voice Media Group as an App Developer, developing a Django app that used Celery and Kafka to automate business actions between third-party services and internal applications, as well as managing and maintaining a SQL Server data warehouse. Currently, they are a Software Engineer at GradGuard - College Life Protected.

David Accomazzo graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2008 with a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Mass Communication.
