Dave Solbes

Dave Solbes has over twenty years of experience in the tech industry. Dave started their career at Taos in 1997 as a Member Technical Staff. In 1999, they moved to Credence where they served as a Senior Network Administrator IV, managing network design and support roles for a Fore Networks/Cisco network infrastructure. In 2003, they transitioned to IBM as a Network Services Delivery Specialist, where they were responsible for outsourcing arrangements and paperwork. In 2004, they returned to Credence in the same role. In 2006, they moved to Kentrox, Inc. as a Senior System Administrator/Network Engineer, where they were responsible for networking, storage, and tier-three systems engineering support for a three-datacenter, gigahit-per-day+ SaaS application offering. Dave also designed and implemented a new ticketing/change management and tracking system for production. In 2009, they joined The ODS Companies as a Senior Applications System Administrator, managing the customer-facing WebSphere environment for thousands of insurance clients. In 2010, they moved to Webtrends as a Senior Technology Engineer, where they achieved the stated setup goals of the creation of a devops team. Dave then transitioned to a a principal engineer/architect role to provide ongoing support and mentoring. In 2017, they moved to Oracle as a Principal Software Engineer - DevOps, where they provided mentoring for more junior ops engineers on deep linux knowledge, chef, terraform, Rundeck, git, Jenkins, Go, Python, and Java. In 2022, they moved to Gradient AI as a Senior DevOps Engineer.

Dave Solbes attended New Mexico State University from 1994 to 1995, studying Theatre/Theater, but did not graduate.
