Dean Lockhead

Dean Lockhead has extensive work experience in market insights and advisory services. Dean is currently the Director of Market Insights at GRAIL since January 2023. Prior to that, they served as the Associate Director of Market Insights from January 2022 to January 2023, and as a Senior Market Insights Manager from January 2021 to January 2022 at GRAIL.

Before joining GRAIL, Dean worked at Charles River Associates from 2016 to 2020, where they quickly progressed to the role of Principal. During their tenure, they provided strategic advisory services for pharmaceutical products at all life cycle stages and contributed scientific expertise to engagements. Dean gained extensive experience in market research, competitive intelligence, forecasting, and data analysis. Dean also managed teams of consultants on various projects.

Dean's earlier experience includes working as a Consultant at Oxbridge Biotech Roundtable from 2013 to 2015 and as a Lab Manager at the University of Colorado Denver from 2008 to 2010.

Dean Lockhead completed their B.A. at the University of Colorado Boulder from 2003 to 2008, where they pursued a triple major in Molecular Cellular and Developmental Biology, Biochemistry, and German. Dean then participated in the International Summer Program at Freie Universität Berlin in 2008. Later, from 2010 to 2016, Dean attended Stanford University, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Molecular and Cellular Physiology. In 2013, they also took part in an International Bio-Innovation Project at Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, earning the distinction of Best Presentation Award. Additionally, in 2015, Dean completed the Stanford Ignite Program at Stanford University Graduate School of Business, focusing on Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies.
