Eran Mick is a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist at GRAIL since November 2023, with previous experience as a Bioinformatics Scientist at the University of California, San Francisco from October 2019 to November 2023, where significant contributions included leading the development of an integrated host/microbe diagnostic classifier for lower respiratory tract infections and investigating COVID-19 pathophysiology using metagenomic RNA-sequencing. Prior to UCSF, Eran Mick was a Research Fellow in the Mootha lab at Massachusetts General Hospital and the Broad Institute, focusing on mitochondrial dysfunction and metabolism through RNA-sequencing and metabolite profiling. Previous academic endeavors included work at Harvard University as a PhD Candidate and at the Weizmann Institute of Science. Eran Mick holds a PhD in Systems Biology from Harvard University and a B.Sc. in Computer Science and Biology with a specialization in bioinformatics from Tel Aviv University. Additionally, experience includes service as an Intelligence Analysis Officer in the Israel Defense Forces.
