Jonathan Kong

Jonathan Kong, MBA has a diverse work experience in the field of clinical research, with expertise in managing clinical trials and conducting research. Jonathan currently works as a Senior Clinical Trial Manager at GRAIL since June 2022. Prior to this, they served as a Senior Clinical Trial Manager at Assembly Biosciences, Inc. from October 2021 to April 2022, and as a Clinical Trial Manager from March 2020 to September 2021.

Jonathan also gained experience as a Clinical Trial Manager at CymaBay Therapeutics from November 2019 to December 2019, and as a Senior Clinical Research Associate at Menlo Therapeutics from December 2016 to November 2019.

Jonathan started their career in the pharmaceutical industry at Gilead Sciences where they served as a Clinical Trial Management Associate for Hep C from July 2014 to November 2016, and as a Clinical Project Assistant for Hep C from December 2012 to July 2014.

Jonathan has also worked as a Clinical Research Associate at ID Fish Technologies from September 2011 to January 2013, where they were responsible for developing experimental procedures, conducting studies with national and international clinics, and directing clinical labs for sample processing.

Furthermore, Jonathan gained research experience as a Molecular Biology Research Intern at Prosetta Corporation, where they developed procedures to screen antiviral drugs and trained staff and interns in lab skills and practices. Jonathan also served as a Supervising Tutor at Daily Academic Support System, organizing educational activities for students and managing a team of tutors.

Earlier in their career, Jonathan worked as a Molecular Biology Research Intern at Novozymes, Inc., focusing on fungal molecular biology, and as a Molecular Genetics Research Intern at Life Technologies, where they worked on identifying anomalies in DNA sequences.

Jonathan Kong obtained a Bachelor's degree in Science with a focus on Biotechnology, specifically Microbiology and Plant Biology, from the University of California, Davis. Following this, they pursued further education and completed their Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) at Golden Gate University from 2014 to 2017. Prior to their MBA, Jonathan also attended UC Berkeley Extension for Project Management studies in 2013-2014.
