Nicki Mitchell has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Nicki currently works as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist V at GRAIL, Inc., where they focus on a noninvasive early cancer detection assay called Galleri™. Nicki worked on an Inherited Cancer Panel assay called Array CGH, performed Sanger Sequencing tests, and took on leadership roles as a trainer and a Safety Officer. Nicki then became a Technologist, where they worked on an additional Inherited Cancer Panel assay called VistaSeq and was part of the team working on an NIPT Clinical Trial. Nicki also served as the main Safety Officer for the Genomics department, training their coworkers to join the Safety Team.

Before Labcorp, Nicki gained experience as a Biology Intern at D9 Brewing Company, where they performed daily tests on fermentation tanks. Nicki also served as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University, where they performed various experiments and taught other students how to perform them.

Earlier in their career, Nicki worked as the creator, general manager, and babysitter for a private online organization called NorthStone Babysitters, where they connected parents to local babysitters. Nicki also worked as a Cashier and Line Worker at Uncle Maddio's Pizza, where they expanded their role to work in different positions and was responsible for maintaining cleanliness. Additionally, Nicki worked as a Hostess and Food Runner at Fox & Hound at Birkdale Village, where they greeted guests, seated them, and delivered food to tables.

Overall, Nicki Mitchell has demonstrated diverse skills and responsibilities in laboratory work, safety management, leadership, teaching, managing an online organization, and customer service.

Nicki Mitchell completed their high school education at Lake Norman Charter High School from 2010 to 2014, earning a High School Diploma. Nicki then attended Central Piedmont Community College for a year from 2015 to 2016, where they transferred credits to East Carolina University. At East Carolina University, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from 2014 to 2017. Afterwards, they pursued further education at East Carolina University and obtained a Master's degree in Molecular Biology & Biotechnology from 2017 to 2019, specializing in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology.
