John Clevenger

John Clevenger is an accomplished data science professional with a strong background in leading teams and driving data-driven initiatives. Currently serving as the Technical Director of Data Science at Grammarly since April 2024, John oversees B2C Growth and Marketing Data Science. Prior to this role, John held various positions at Stitch Fix from March 2018 to April 2024, including Director of Data Science, where leadership involved guiding a team to support marketing and client engagement efforts. Experience as a Data Scientist at Netflix from March 2017 to March 2018 included supporting product experimentation and developing statistical methods that enhanced experimentation quality company-wide. John began a career in data science as a fellow at Insight Data Science in early 2017 and pursued a PhD in Cognitive Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 2012 to 2017. Educational qualifications also include a Master's degree in Philosophy from California State University, Long Beach.
