Steve Duman

Steve Duman is a data scientist at Grammarly, specializing in experimental analyses and statistical methodologies for ML and LLM products since April 2022. Prior experience includes roles as an analytical linguist and language data researcher at Amazon, where Steve utilized statistical methods in user studies to ensure data quality for large-scale ML models. Steve held a postdoctoral research fellowship at the University of Basel, focusing on language data analysis and teaching in Linguistics and Cognitive Science. With previous positions as a graduate instructor and co-founder of Inherent Games, Steve brings a diverse background in education and product development. Steve holds a Ph.D. in Linguistics and Cognitive Science from the University of Colorado Boulder and an M.A. in English Linguistics from the University of Berne.
