Michael Everitt is an accomplished geology professional with extensive experience in the mining and exploration industries. Since February 2005, Michael has served as the Geology Manager for the Southdown Project at Grange Resources, overseeing pre-development activities and environmental approvals. Prior to this role, Michael managed the geology function at the Savage River Magnetite Mine. Michael's career includes previous positions at Ivanhoe Cloncurry Mines as an Exploration Project Geologist and as a Senior Mine Geologist at Thalanga Copper Mines Ltd. Michael has also worked with various organizations, including Newmont Mining Corporation and ARIMCO, contributing to multiple projects and geotechnical assessments. Michael holds a Bachelor of Applied Science with Honors in Geology from the University of Southern Queensland.
Grange Resources
Grange Resources Limited owns and operates Australia's largest integrated iron ore mining and pellet production business located in the northwest region of Tasmania. The Savage River magnetite iron ore mine, 100km southwest of the city of Burnie, is a long life mining asset with current reserves estimated to extend the mine life to beyond 2035. At Port Latta, 70kms northwest of Burnie, is Grange Resources' wholly owned pellet plant and port facility producing over two million tonnes of premium quality iron ore pellets annually with plans to increase annual production in the coming years to 2.7 million tonnes. Grange holds long term supply contracts for one million tonnes of its annual production and offers the balance of its production to market via a spot sales tendering/contract process.
