Leo Zhu is currently a Product Manager at Granify. Prior to this, they were an MCAT Content Creator & Tutor at Med School Insiders from October 2020 to June 2021. Before that, they were a Curriculum Developer at Top Knowledge from August 2019 to May 2020. Leo was also the Vice President of Product Operations at Jack Westin from June 2021 to May 2022.
Leo has extensive experience in moderating and designing historically-researched debate topics for Model United Nation conferences at both highschool and university levels. Leo has also planned and executed simulated crises related to Rio Olympics (UTMUN 2016), 30 Years’ War (SSICSIM 2017), Lebanese Civil War (UTMUN 2017), Colombia Congress (NAMUN 2018), and the World Health Organization (OMWHO 2018, 2020) in sessions ranging from 20 to 100 participants.
At Top Knowledge, Leo was responsible for creating regular reports to school administration, communicating with class representatives daily, and meeting with district treasurer regularly to maintain budget spreadsheet for auditing. Leo was also elected into position each year by student body, managed a budget of $25000, organized and budgeted for profitable social events and oversaw logistics. During their time there, they organized charitable drives and the student body collectively donated $6250 to charity over 4 years.
Leo Zhu graduated from the University of Toronto with a Masters in Chemical Engineering (MASc) and a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering (BASc). Afterwards, they attended the McKinsey Product Academy and was a Product Operations Mentee. Leo is certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute and as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt from The Council for Six Sigma Certification (CSSC).
They work with Loren Peace - Principal Software Engineer, James Lloyd - Technical Project Manager, and Neil Lamoureux - Principal Software Engineer. Leo Zhu reports to Mark Ly, VP, Product & Technology.
