Keith Stephen

Vice President, Sustainability & Environment at Granite REIT

Keith Stephen has over 17 years of work experience in environmental sustainability and engineering. Keith started their career in 2003 as a Project Manager & Engineer at GENIVAR and worked there until 2011. From 2011 to 2014, they served as an Environmental Engineer at Giffin Koerth Inc. In 2014, Keith joined Granite Real Estate Investment Trust (GRP/U) as an Environmental Director and later became the Senior Environmental Director. Currently, they hold the position of VP, Sustainability & Environment at the company, where they are responsible for managing potential environmental risks across a global portfolio of over 80 properties. Keith also plays a crucial role as the Chair for the Environmental Committee, presenting action plans to executive management and assisting in the development of corporate environmental policies.

Keith Stephen earned a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc) in Environmental (Civil) Engineering from the University of Waterloo in 2003. Keith later pursued a Master's degree (M.Eng.) in Environmental Engineering from the University of Toronto from 2007 to 2008. In terms of certifications, Keith obtained their P.Eng. certification from Professional Engineers Ontario in 2006 and their Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in June 2013.
