David Meyer has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. David began their career at AT&T as a Software Developer in 1986. David then worked at LinguaTech International as a Computational Lexicographer/Linguist, focusing on computational linguistics, lexicography, and electronic publishing software development.

Meyer subsequently joined Larousse as a Computational Lexicographer, where they developed computational lexicography and electronic publishing software. David also worked on creating data entry systems for lexicographers and enhancing dictionaries through the analysis of monolingual and aligned bilingual corpora.

In 1995, Meyer became a Video Producer at Cine-Bit Productions, co-producing English as a Second Language multimedia titles and developing video content. David then transitioned to Inxight Software as a Computational Linguist, contributing to the development of various NLP software products, including building regression testing applications and writing transducer rules for data normalization.

From 2006 to 2014, Meyer served as a Computational Linguist at Blue Coat Systems, specializing in web content classification and malware detection. David'sresponsibilities included compiling and optimizing training sets for Bayesian web page classifiers and conducting research on web page classification.

At FinThrive, Meyer started as a Computational Linguist in 2014, focusing on medical records natural language processing and machine learning solutions. David developed machine learning processes for assigning ICD-10 PCS codes to medical documents and created Clinical Documentation Improvement processes for identifying missing diagnostic information.

In 2018, Meyer transitioned to the role of Senior Computational Linguist at FinThrive, where they continued their work on medical records NLP and machine learning. David then became a Senior Data Scientist and is currently serving as a Staff Data Scientist, leveraging their skills and expertise in the field.

Meyer also held positions at Graph, Inc. as Chief Scientist, starting in 2020, and NimbleCat, where they were Chief Scientist for nearly two decades. At NimbleCat, they specialized in software development for resume analysis, matching job postings, and natural language processing, and played a key role in developing the company's executive job search app and social networking Throng app.

Throughout their career, David Meyer has consistently demonstrated their proficiency in computational linguistics, lexicography, natural language processing, software development, and machine learning.

David Meyer started their education at Miramonte High School in 1975, where they did not pursue a specific degree or field of study. From 1976 to 1979, they attended San Francisco University High School, again without completing a degree or focusing on a specific field of study.

In 1979, David began their college education at Williams College, completing their freshman year before moving on to Brigham Young University in 1983. At BYU, they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Design, which they completed in 1985.

David continued their education at Brigham Young University from 1987 to 1990, where they obtained a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Linguistics.

Afterward, they attended The University of Texas at Austin from 1990 to 1993, completing coursework for a Ph.D. in Linguistics, with a minor in Cognitive Science.

David's education journey culminated at The University of Edinburgh, where they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Linguistics from 2003 to 2011.
