Petr Matuska

Petr Matuska has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Petr began their career as a Junior Researcher at VŠCHT Praha - UCT Prague, where they focused on nanoparticle research and project management. Petr then joined ICT Prague as a Junior Researcher in the Department of Chemical Engineering, where they developed thermodynamic models and innovative apparatus for polymer measurements.

Petr's next role was with the Italcementi Group, where they completed a traineeship focused on inorganic high-temperature resistant materials and participated in the development of a water-resistant binder. Petr also worked as a Junior Researcher at VŠCHT Praha - UCT Prague, collaborating with Zentiva on computational algorithms to optimize processes in the pharmaceutical industry.

Afterward, Petr joined JímDobře as a Co-founder, where they established a company focused on healthy food delivery and lifestyle education for increased employee productivity. Petr gained experience in sales negotiation, people management, marketing, and basic accounting.

Petr then joined IAESTE, first as a Project Manager involved in innovative projects to enhance communication between companies and students, and later as a PR Manager organizing events and managing a job and training fair.

Petr'snext career move was to Syngenta, where they gained experience as a Junior IT specialist and Business Analyst, focusing on product and project IT management. Petr developed skills in data analysis, process mapping, system design, negotiation with vendors, and agile management.

At MSD, Petr held multiple roles, including IT Technical Analyst and R&D Competency Analyst, Data Scientist/Technical Product Owner, and NLP Engineer. Petr built tools for natural language processing in the pharmaceutical industry, developed PoCs and production solutions, and played a role in translating business requirements into algorithms.

Petr then became a Machine Learning Consultant at BioXcel Therapeutics Inc., where they designed and built knowledge graphs from various data sources to help subject matter experts discover connections and repurpose drugs more efficiently.

Most recently, Petr joined GraphAware as a Senior NLP Consultant, responsible for applied natural language processing, machine learning, and data science. Petr engaged with customers to understand problems, design solutions, and develop production-ready code, focusing on NLP/Machine Learning algorithms.

Petr Matuska completed their education at multiple institutions, starting with the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague (UCT Prague) from 2008 to 2011, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Technical physical and analytical chemistry. Petr then pursued further education at UCT Prague from 2011 to 2013, earning a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, and Mathematical Modeling.

In addition to their formal education, Petr Matuska also participated in several certification programs. Petr obtained the Neo4j Certified Professional 3.* certification from Neo4j in July 2019 and the Neo4j Certification 4.* in April 2022. Petr completed the UiPath Advanced Training program offered by UiPath in November 2018.

Furthermore, Petr Matuska received various other certifications, such as Lean Six Sigma - Yellow Belt training in July 2018, Introduction to Machine Learning with Python from CERGE-EI in March 2018, and Leadership Academy from CEB, now Gartner, in March 2018.
