Rycharde Hawkes

Rycharde Hawkes has extensive work experience in various roles in the technology industry. Rycharde currently works at Graphcore as the Director of Product Management, a position they have held since September 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Director of SDK Deployment at Graphcore from June 2021 to September 2022.

Before joining Graphcore, Hawkes worked as a Consultant at Hawkes Technology from May 2017 to May 2021. Prior to that, they held the position of Distinguished Technologist (Technical Director) at both Hewlett Packard Enterprise from November 2015 to April 2017, and HP from January 2015 to October 2015. At both companies, they led research and development projects focused on management software and IT systems.

Hawkes' tenure at HP also included roles as a Principal Research Engineer from January 2007 to December 2014 and as a Senior Research Engineer from September 1996 to December 2006. In these positions, they worked on a wide range of projects including cloud platforms, interactive entertainment services, and digital media.

Before their time at HP, Hawkes worked as a Freelance Consultant at TechnoSphere II from May 1996 to May 1999, where they contributed to the development of an award-winning 3D world inhabited by artificial life forms. Prior to that, they served as a Research Associate at the University of Edinburgh, where they designed and implemented a system to support visual perception experiments.

Hawkes began their career as a Software Engineer at Real World Graphics from 1991 to 1992, where they worked on software development for real-time computer image generators. Rycharde also worked as a Software Engineer at Toleman Automotive from 1989 to 1990.

Rycharde Hawkes obtained a B.Sc. (Hons) in Computer Science from Coventry University in 1991 and went on to earn a Ph.D. in Computer Science from The University of Edinburgh in 1996.
