Shannon Morton

Shannon Morton is a distinguished engineer at Graphcore, having joined in August 2015 to contribute to the development of advanced AI and machine learning silicon chips. Prior to Graphcore, Morton held the role of Director of Silicon Engineering at NVIDIA from June 2011 to June 2015, where responsibilities included managing a physical design team for baseband modem hardware. Before that, Morton was a Director of Silicon Engineering at Icera, overseeing physical design and implementation from RTL to gdsii for various technology nodes. Morton's career began with roles in circuit design and technical staff at companies such as SGI and DEC/CPQ, and involvement in academic committees like the ISSCC. Shannon holds a Ph.D. and a B.E. in Electronic Engineering from the University of Adelaide, with a focus on high-speed asynchronous design techniques.
