Director Of Poplar Compiler

Simon Long is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in software engineering and development, primarily in the telecommunications and machine learning sectors. Currently serving as the Director of Poplar Compiler at Graphcore since October 2018, Simon leads initiatives to develop libraries and compilers for IPUs, as well as tools for program analysis. Prior roles include Director of Analysis Tools and various engineering positions at companies such as Dyson and Cisco Systems, where notable achievements include winning the Small Cell Forum Judges Award in 2017 and developing the Open-nFAPI project. Simon's career began with Lucent Technologies in 1998, and education includes bachelor's degrees in Computer Science from the University of East Anglia and the University of Colorado Boulder.
