John Lin

John L. is an experienced executive in the trading and financial sectors, currently serving as Chairman at Grasshopper, a private technology-driven trading firm in Singapore, since 2013. Previously, John held the role of CEO at Grasshopper from 1999 to 2012. John's career also includes a position as Chief Trader at SMBC Nikko Securities Inc. from 1997 to 1999, where significant contributions included the management of the SGX derivatives book and the development of a proprietary interest-rate arbitrage strategy. Additionally, John was a Proprietary Market Maker at First Continental from 1990 to 1997, specializing in equity index and interest rate futures and options across major financial hubs. Currently, John is a member of the International Advisory Council of APCO Worldwide. John L. holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering from Cornell University, completed in 1990.
