Scott Underwood

Scott Underwood has a diverse work experience in the field of DevSecOps and systems engineering. Scott currently works as the Senior DevSecOps Program Manager for Gray Analytics, leading the DevSecOps team and contract portfolio for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). Their role involves driving culture change across MDA programs and implementing CNCF compliant stacks both on-premises and in the commercial cloud. Scott is also a DevSecOps Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the MDA's Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) program and the program lead for MDA Cloud 2.

Prior to joining Gray Analytics, Scott worked at Lockheed Martin for a considerable period. Scott served as a Systems Engineer Staff, leading a DevOps server automation team that significantly reduced system build time using existing tools. Scott also acted as the engineering lead and representative for operations and sustainment in the design and deployment of the C2BMC Spiral 8. Scott provided sustainment engineering to the operational C2BMC system globally and contributed to the design team for the next system spiral delivery. Additionally, they worked as a Senior Systems Engineer, focusing on communication systems for the US Air Force Range Standardization and Automation project.

Scott Underwood attended California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo from 1998 to 2001. Scott obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Electronic and Communications Engineering Technology/Technician. In addition to their degree, Scott Underwood also obtained a certification in Security+ from Comp Tia in December 2017.
