James Icenogle

James Icenogle has an extensive work experience in the field of cyber security. James began their career in 1994 as a Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) Analyst for the US Army. In 2004, they became a Computer Scientist for SYTEX. In 2006, they joined Northrop Grumman as a Manager of Cyber Operations and a Computer Security Technician level 4. In 2015, they co-founded Gray Tier Technologies, LLC, where they served as Owner/CEO and Red Team Lead. In these roles, they specialized in developing bespoke offensive system security operations tool development, guided young penetration testers, established mission scope and guidance to perform penetration testing, enabled the Applied Technologies Unit, conducted security research and proof-of-concept software development, and provided technical reports and demonstrations.

James Icenogle attended Shiloh High School from 1990 to 1994. James went on to earn two Bachelor's Degrees from Metropolitan State University of Denver, one in Business Computer Information Systems from 2000 to 2005, and one in Computer Science from 2000 to 2004. In 2010, they obtained a GIAC Certified Incident Handler certification from the SANS Institute, and in 2014 they obtained an Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) certification from Offensive Security.
