Stefan W. has been working in the field of Information Security since 2001. 🔐 Stefan began their career as an Avionics Technician and Radar and Electronic Countermeasure Technician for the German Air Force. In 2006, they took on the role of Database and Systems Administrator, providing local tier 1-2 IT support for hardware and software to internal and external personnel, administering, supporting, and strictly monitoring databases to quickly resolve problems with Oracle 10g Servers, and performing daily maintenance of high-availability clustered computer systems to keep systems running. From 2015 to 2017, Stefan W. was a Senior IT-Engineer and Information Security Manager at Airbus Defence and Space, where they implemented, installed, taught, and fed data into an Information Security Management System (SAVe 5) to improve the security posture for the German Air Force, and advised developers to get products compliant (GSBw). In 2019, Stefan W. became a Cybersecurity Mentor and Educator, creating a Cybersecurity career website with over 200 pages and 80,000 views. Currently, they are a (SIEM) Information Security Engineer at Graylog, Inc., where they are developing, validating, and testing content packs for a wide range of security products like Meraki, ASA, BlueCoat, MS Defender, and FortiGate, and developing content packs with Visual Studio Code and toml, as well as creating and modifying a Cyber Range with vagrant and virtualization.

Stefan W. completed the International Trained Professionals Program at Austin Community College in 2020. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Rheinische Fachhochschule Köln between 2013 and 2016. From 2011 to 2013, they attended Technical College for Technology, Cologne, where they earned a State-certified technical engineer in SCADA, ICS. 🔐 Stefan also obtained a communications electronics technician from State professional school Memmingen between 1998 and 2001. Stefan W. has obtained various certifications from eLearnSecurity, CompTIA, Werner-von-Siemens-Schule Köln, DEKRA Akademie GmbH, RangeForce, and Microsoft, as well as a FAA License Part 107 Unmanned Aircraft General -Small from the Federal Aviation Administration.
