Andy Herring

Andy Herring is an operating partner of The Great River Company. He is also Vice President Business Development at Energy Management Collaborative, an LED lighting and controls solutions provider located in Minneapolis, where he focuses on strategy, new market development, and sales.

Previously, Andy served as a Senior Advisor at Stone Arch Capital, a Twin Cities middle-market private equity firm, where he assisted the management teams of several portfolio companies with strategy, operational execution, and talent management.

Prior to joining Stone Arch Capital, Andy served as Executive Vice President - Real Estate, Market Development, and Legal at Supervalu (now UNFI). He was responsible for corporate development; real estate, including sustainability and energy management; and legal. Also, Andy served in many other positions over his 15-year career at Supervalu, including several operating roles.

Before joining Supervalu, Andy was a partner in the Corporate Department at Dorsey, a Minneapolis law firm, where practiced for eleven years. While at Dorsey, he specialized in corporate and securities law, served as primary outside counsel for several public and private companies, and was Co-Chair of the M&A Practice Group.

Andy holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame and graduated from the University of Houston School of Law.
