Mark Grismer began their professional career as a Student Intern at LISC in 2006, where they conducted research and filed requests for grants and loans. Mark then worked as a Market Research Intern at Jonathan Ferrini Inc in 2007, where they researched parking meter technology and created reports on market feasibility. Mark also worked as a Student Assistant III at Berkeley Boalt Hall School of Law, where they assisted with day-to-day operations and troubleshooting technical issues.

In 2009, Mark held two internships, one as a Community Development Intern at the City of Bell Gardens and another as a City Planning Intern at the City of Artesia. Mark then served as the President of the Cal Poly Pomona Graduate Planning Student Association from 2009 to 2011.

Mark's next role was as an Assistant Project Manager at California Pacific Homes, where they worked from 2011 to 2014. Mark then took a break from their career and became a Full-Time Traveler, exploring various countries and engaging in activities such as volunteer guiding and eco-building experiments from 2014 to 2016.

After their travel experience, Mark joined D.R. Horton in 2016 as a Land Development Project Manager, overseeing land development projects until 2018. Currently, they are working as a Construction Project Manager at Green Canopy NODE, starting in 2018.

Mark Grismer attended UC San Diego from 2003 to 2007, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Urban Studies and Planning. In 2007, they also briefly attended the University of California, Berkeley, focusing on City and Regional Planning. From 2009 to 2011, Mark pursued further education at California State Polytechnic University-Pomona, earning a Master's degree in Urban and Regional Planning. Additionally, Mark obtained several certifications, including "Communicating with Confidence" and "Project Management Fundamentals" from LinkedIn in October 2016. Mark also achieved a certification as a "Sustainable Homes Professional" from Earth Advantage, although the specific details regarding the month and year of achievement are unknown.
