Marco Licari

Energy Engineer, Europe at Green Generation

Marco Licari is a member of the GreenGen European team, based in Marseille, France. As Energy Engineer, he performs utility analysis, energy audits, solution design and implementation, supporting the Solutions group and the technology research.

Prior to GreenGen, he worked as project engineer at the IRPHE Research Institute, where he developed the prototype of an experimental hydraulic turbine; thanks to the results obtained, he published “Study of low-head hydrostatic pressure water wheels for harnessing hydropower on small streams” as first author. After this first achievement, he gained project management expertise working as engineering consultant. He contributed to the delivery and execution of an EPC project of 160M€ for a French industrial group. As a consultant, he also managed a portfolio of refurbishment and optimization projects in a power plant for a major energy company.

During his academic career, Marco has been elected at the Board of Directors of Politecnico di Milano, where he represented an electorate of 35 thousand students.

As he loves learning new languages and cultures, Marco worked and lived in Italy, UK, South of France, and Corsica, before returning to Marseille for starting his second master’s degree. He fluently speaks three English, French, and Italian.

Marco attended Polytechnic Milano, where he received a BSc in Energy & Nuclear Engineering, and a MSc in Energy Development. During his first master’s degree, he had a one-year exchange at Ecole Centrale Marseille. After few years of work, he obtained his second MSc in Innovation & Transformation Entrepreneurship at Kedge Business School, where he wrote a Master Thesis on “Sustainable Development: how to assure company's profitability.”
