Andy Read

Andy Read is an experienced procurement professional with a strong background in the food industry. Currently serving as Procurement Director for Agriculture at Greencore since February 2020, Andy previously held the role of Sourcing E2E Director at Greencore Group, where significant contributions were made to the purchasing function's transformation. As Group Sourcing Manager from October 2013 to September 2018, Andy managed the cereals material group, overseeing commodity buying and developing the group's bread strategy. Prior experience includes serving as Category Purchasing Controller at Greencore Cakes & Desserts, with comprehensive purchasing responsibility, and various roles at Geest/Bakkavor, culminating as Category Purchasing Manager, where diverse procurement activities were undertaken. Andy's career began at UB Ross Youngs as a Trainee Buyer, where early responsibilities included a time and temperature project and traditional purchasing roles.
