Mark O’Connor

Mark was appointed as a governor in May 2015 and is currently a member of the Audit and Risk and Health and Safety Committees having previously served on the Finance and Estates Committee. He also acts as a link between the Governing Body and the College Careers Services.

Mark is a Board Director with Cummins Inc. He is an experienced General Manager in the global automotive industry. Over the past 25 years, he has lived and worked on four continents and held senior management positions in the UK, USA and China. He has also served on business joint venture boards in India and China and was Chairman of the Wuxi (China) foreign investors association. After graduating in Business / Operations management, he gained an MBA in 1995. Mark has a strong passion for business with particular focus on safety, quality and customer care.

He has always been a keen sports person, involved with athletics, endurance cycling, marathon running (X2 Great Wall of China), rugby union and more recently golf.
