Maria Åstrand

Maria Åstrand is currently the Vice President of Global Operations at Epiroc, overseeing a global organization with seven production units across multiple countries. They have held significant leadership roles, including nearly six years as Vice President at Northvolt and Managing Director at Swerea KIMAB, a research institute. Maria's extensive experience in operations, manufacturing, R&D, and product development spans over two decades, including 16 years at Sandvik Coromant. They hold both an MSc and a PhD in Materials Science from KTH Royal Institute of Technology and Uppsala University, respectively, and participate in advisory roles for initiatives in sustainability and materials science.
