Fernando Romo

Fernando Romo is currently serving as an Operation Ship Advisor at Greenpeace International since January 2022, providing strategic and logistical support for the organization’s campaigns. With extensive experience at Greenpeace since 2007, Romo has held various captain positions on ships such as the Arctic Sunrise, S/Y Rainbow Warrior, and M/Y Esperanza, leading scientific expeditions focused on biodiversity research and environmental conservation in regions including the Antarctic and the North Sea. Romo's academic background includes degrees in Maritime Studies and various certifications related to marine environment management, ice navigation, and diving, establishing a strong foundation for environmental advocacy and maritime operations.
