Sam Beaton

Sam Beaton is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in the energy and engineering sectors. Currently serving as the Head of Development at Gren since September 2025, Sam previously held the position of Engineering Manager at Vattenfall, overseeing engineering deliverables for major heat projects in the UK. With a strong background as a Senior Renewable Heat Engineer at Natural Power, Sam has led technical and economic assessments for renewable heat technologies and consulted on District Energy Networks. Additional roles include Vice Chair of the Energy Institute Young Professionals Network for the Southern Scotland Branch, Energy & Projects Engineer at Synergie Environ Ltd, and Maintenance Development Engineer at The HEINEKEN Company. Sam holds a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde.
