In Grenada, and many other Caribbean islands in the region, students are encouraged to pursue careers in a very limited number of fields. These fields often become highly saturated, resulting in an imbalance of skillsets among emerging youth. Our perception is that greater emphasis should be placed on the STEAM fields in Grenada. The acronym, STEAM, stands for the five disciplines represented through the organization - Science, Technology, Engineering, Architecture and Mathematics. These very broad and very interrelated fields of study form a structure for many of the careers that are undeniably building the future of our societies.
 
Grenadian STEAM intends to change the aforementioned paradigm by not only effecting change among the youth themselves, but their families and communities as well.
 
Our mission is to expose the youth of Grenada to the possibilities within these fields, while expanding the local ideas of what a valuable career pursuit can be. It is our hope that students will be empowered to chart their own, more informed paths, developing skills, products and services that will in turn help develop our country’s economy.
