Data Scientist, New Energy at Gresham House

Tom Joined Gresham House in April 2022 as a Site Condition Monitoring Engineer and is now a Data Scientist in the New Energy division.

Before starting at Gresham House, Tom completed a Ph.D. in Physics at the University of Bath with the thesis title “Towards Brillouin Enabled Photonic Switching and Quantum Memories”. During this time, he investigated the viability of two photonic devices for use in linear optics quantum computing platforms both theoretically and experimentally and developed a unique set of skills allowing for a wide variety of applications.

Prior to his time in Bath, Tom studied for a BSc in Physics at Aberystwyth University and an MSc in Diamond Science and Technology at the University of Warwick, during which time he completed research placements at Strathclyde University and the University of Oxford.
