Michael Smith

Michael Smith, MSCIA, CISSP-ISSEP, CISM, currently serves as Field CTO at DigiCert, facilitating the integration of cybersecurity strategies and engineering to enhance capabilities in areas such as Cyber Threat Intelligence, DDoS Mitigation, and Web Security. Smith also contributes as a Content Creator for SecuritySync and as a Startup Mentor at MassChallenge, supporting cybersecurity and IT startups. Additionally, Smith has experience as an Adjunct Instructor at ThriveDX, teaching cybersecurity topics, and previously founded Rising Tide Cybersecurity Management. Past roles include Vice President of Technology at Cloud Range and Security CTO at Akamai Technologies, with a strong background in incident response, threat intelligence, and product development. Smith holds a Master's degree in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance from Western Governors University, a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies from Excelsior University, and an Advanced DoD Certificate in Russian from the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center.
