Derek Brown

Derek Brown is a Senior Managing Director for Greystar Development and Construction Services and is responsible for identifying, underwriting, capitalizing, and executing development opportunities in the Midsouth/Central West region.

He joined Greystar in 2006 and has been active in the real estate industry since 2001. Prior to joining Greystar, Derek was with Tishman Speyer in Chicago, where he was responsible for acquisition and development of office and residential properties. He is an advisory council member of the University of Texas Real Estate Finance and Investment Center and is on the board of directors for the Real Estate Council of Austin.

Derek holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Texas and an MBA in Real Estate Investment and Finance from the Kellstadt School at DePaul University.
