Tom Farkas

Tom Farkas has extensive experience in the field of engineering and power electronics. Tom currently works as an Engineering Manager at GridBridge, Inc., where they lead a team developing Grid Energy Routers that improve distribution efficiency and reliability at the grid edge. Tom was previously a Senior Applications Engineer at Analog Devices, where they designed power supply application circuits for high-frequency PWM controllers. Before that, they worked at Microchip Technology Inc. as a Senior Staff Applications and Architectures Engineer, developing new product definitions and specifications for power switches and USB (Type C) Power Delivery power management IC's. Tom also has experience at Semtech as a Principal Applications Engineer, responsible for product concepts, validation, and application circuit design for power management integrated circuits.

In addition to their current and previous roles, Tom has worked at John Deere as a Staff Engineer and Lead Product Validation & Verification Engineer, focusing on Electric Drive Systems. Tom also worked at A123 Systems as a Senior Systems Engineer and Senior Electrical Engineer, designing battery management circuits and pack architectures for electric and hybrid vehicles. At Intersil Corporation, Tom worked as a Field Applications Engineer, and at SynQor, Inc. as a Sr. Design Engineer. Tom started their career at Electronic Lighting Inc. as an Engineering Manager and at General Electric Corporate R & D as a Power Electronics Engineer.

Tom Farkas attended Miami Beach High School from 1981 to 1985. Following that, they pursued a degree in Electrical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, graduating in 1991 with both a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE).
