Ben Farmer is a Senior Data Scientist at Gridcog, where they focus on data-driven development since joining in early 2025. Prior to this role, Ben was a Senior Research Scientist/Scientific Software Engineer at Acacia Systems, specializing in passive sonar track-to-track fusion from late 2023 to 2024, and a Senior Scientific Software Engineer/Data Scientist at the Bureau of Meteorology from 2020 to 2023, leading the operationalization of the eReefs project. Ben completed a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship at Imperial College London from 2018 to 2020 and conducted postdoctoral research at The Oskar Klein Centre from 2014 to 2017. They hold a Ph.D. in Physics from Monash University, where they also earned a Bachelor's degree in the same field.
