Isaac Oquist began their work experience as an Electronics Technician in the United States Marine Corps from July 2005 to July 2010. From September 2013 to March 2014, they worked as an Engineering Lab Assistant at the University of Washington. In June 2014, Isaac joined RH2 Engineering as a Staff Engineer until June 2019, where they then transitioned into the role of Project Engineer until October 2020. Presently, they are employed at Group14 Technologies as a Project Engineer, starting in March 2023.
Isaac Oquist completed a coding bootcamp in software engineering at Code with Mosh from 2021 to 2022. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington from 2013 to 2014. Before attending the University of Washington, they attended Cascadia Community College from 2010 to 2012, studying electrical engineering. In 2003 and 2004, Isaac obtained a Certificate of Proficiency in Software Development from Lake Washington Institute of Technology.
In addition to their education, Isaac Oquist also holds certifications. Isaac obtained a Professional Engineer (PE) certification from the State of Washington in January 2020. In May 2010, they received a Journeyman Radio Mechanic certification from the US Department of Labor OSHA.

The future is silicon. Anodes must improve and silicon has the most potential. Nano-scale silicon provides the best combination of capacity and power, but still not sufficient cycle life and nano-scale production approaches remain expensive. Group14 has applied deep materials research experience to develop a new, low-cost approach to nano-scale silicon production. Our nano-scale silicon has high purity, high capacity, good power, and good cycle life. We use its unique high performance carbon engineering abilities to create cohesive silicon-carbon nanocomposites that dramatically outperform traditional carbon coated silicons.
