Ian Yu's work experience includes roles as a Machine Learning Engineer at GroupBy Inc., a Data Strategy Analyst at GroupBy Inc., a Data Science & Business Analytics Lead at Stratica X Inc., an Industry Mentor at BrainStation, and a Core Maintainer of PIISA Project at PIISA | Open Source Research Project.

At GroupBy Inc., Ian designed and implemented core services of a Generative AI proof-of-concept for a new Enrich product. As a Data Strategy Analyst, they worked on user journey assessment, product design, development, and deployment of an internal web application for a utility telecom client at Stratica X Inc.

Ian also served as an Industry Mentor at BrainStation, where they participated in speaking engagements and events aimed at shaping the future of technology education. As a Core Maintainer of PIISA Project at PIISA | Open Source Research Project, they collaborated with other research projects to enhance PII detection capabilities through the use of PIISA's APIs and policy framework.

Additionally, Ian worked as a Market Research Analyst, conducting market scans and analyses for early-stage technology startups, and as an eSports Analyst at M17 Entertainment.

Ian Yu has a diverse education history. In 2014, they obtained a diploma in Business Administration and Management, General from Everest College. Six years later, in 2020, Ian attended BrainStation and completed a course in Data Analytics. Additionally, they obtained a certification in Data Science from BrainStation in June 2020. Ian also holds the designation of "Member - Individual Professional" from the Specialty Coffee Association, which they attained in 2016.
