Ricky Theil has worked in the software engineering industry since 1998. Ricky began their career at Quark Software Inc. as a Software Engineer Level II, where they developed custom internal applications for QA tasks, worked as a liaison between QA and R&D for a client/server e-commerce product in development, configured and maintained hardware and software infrastructures and automation tasks for testing of products by QA teams, developed scripts to fill databases for products with test data for performance testing, developed web-based performance tests for load testing and reporting to R&D, and redeveloped a failed store application built by web team to provide employees with shopping site for Christmas gifts. Ricky also served as a PC Technician.
In 2002, Ricky Theil joined Colorado United Credit Union as a Software Developer/Senior Network Administrator, where they implemented, configured, and managed the 100% health and uptime of all network devices across five locations, including servers, firewalls, routes, disaster recovery platforms, structured network cabling, and voice systems. Ricky also researched and recommended new technologies to achieve improved network performance while controlling and reducing the costs of IT operations across the entire network enterprise.
In 2004, they joined Jacobs as a Software Engineer/Helpdesk Technician.
From 2005 to 2021, Ricky Theil worked at Mountain View Publishers as a Sr. Software Engineer, where they developed, implemented, and supported the company's entire software ecosystem from the ground up. This included a CRM system responsible for $5-8M annual revenue for hundreds of thousands of subscribers, over 1 million pieces of mail, tens of thousands of calls, and thousands of credit card payments, each month. Applications were built with SQL Server/MySQL databases, C# . Net Framework, LAMP stack, and systems to process millions of ACH, X9.
Most recently, Ricky Theil began working at Growlink in 2021 as a Senior Software Engineer. Ricky's responsibilities include developing APIs for customer-facing front-ends using ASP. Net MVC 5 (C#), developing employee administration portals using ASP. Net MVC 5 web apps (C#), maintaining firmware for Azure IoT Edge devices running on CM3 platform (C#), maintaining firmware for Particle cloud devices (C/C++), responsible for ESP32 firmware development and deployments (C/C++), working with hardware engineering team to develop new hardware solutions and products, and working closely with sales/support teams to determine customer requirements for new projects/features.
Ricky Theil began their educational journey in 1997 when they enrolled at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas to pursue a degree in Computer Science. Ricky is still currently enrolled in the program.
