Joep Loos

Joep Loos is a German and European Patent Attorney who specializes in patent prosecution, opposition, and nullity proceedings, with a focus on image and video coding, telecommunications, and Standard Essential Patents (SEP). They have extensive expertise in electrical engineering and electronics, particularly in battery and information technology, as well as automation. Joep studied physics at both the Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg and the University of New Mexico, where they acquired a comprehensive understanding of various fields, including electronics and signal processing. Joep has worked as a Teaching Assistant at the University of New Mexico and as a research assistant at the German Aerospace Center, prior to serving as a Patent Attorney at GRÜNECKER from 2018 to 2022. Currently, they are pursuing degrees in patent law and physics while engaged in their practice.
