Jan Somers is a seasoned leader in the GS1 organization, currently serving as Vice-Chair of GS1 in Europe and as CEO of GS1 Belgium & Luxembourg. With a career spanning over two decades, Jan has held significant roles such as Chair at Data Services & Solutions NV/SA and Project Manager & Lobbyist at VIDAC SA, amongst others. In addition to a managerial position at GS1 Belgium & Luxembourg, Jan participates in global governance as a member of the GS1 Global Management Board, the GS1 Advisory Council, and the Board of GS1 GDSN Inc. Prior experience includes advisory work for the Flemish government and extensive involvement in industry advocacy for the footwear sector.
